A practical workshop for actors, directors, and editors exploring how performances are shaped in post-production. Drawing on Instuctor Joell Posey Grager's experience on both sides of the camera, she'll demonstrate how choices involving timing, continuity, reactions, eyelines, and coverage influence an editor’s ability to craft a scene.
Participants will compare different versions of a scene, discuss how take selection and pacing change the emotional impact, and practice identifying choices that support the story. Actors will learn how to deliver performances that work across multiple takes, directors can explore how to capture useful coverage while supporting their actors, and editors will practice evaluating performances beyond technical continuity.
Students should come prepared with pen and paper or other note-taking device.
