Tamika Miller
Tamika Miller is an award-winning film and television director known for her bold storytelling and cinematic vision. She most recently directed the much-anticipated feature film UNDERCARD, starring Wanda Sykes in her first dramatic role. The film premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Best U.S. Narrative Feature. UNDERCARD also won the Best Independent Film Award at the St. Louis International Film Festival, and will have its national theatrical release on February 27, 2026.
Prior to UNDERCARD, Tamika directed and co-produced the multiple award-winning indie feature HONOR STUDENT, starring Emmy-nominated actress Kelly Jenrette (All American: Homecoming, The Handmaid’s Tale) and actor Hudson Yang (Fresh Off the Boat). HONOR STUDENT won Best Feature Film at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, the Indie Spirit Award at the Boston International Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the Morehouse Human Rights Film Festival, Best Actress at the Los Angeles IFS Film Festival, and earned Tamika the Best Director Award at the Harlem International Film Festival.
Tamika has also directed television, including NBC’s QUANTUM LEAP, CBS’s THE EQUALIZER, and ABC/Shondaland’s STATION 19.
Tamika's work has earned numerous honors, including Best Commercial at the LA Femme Festival; the Showtime Black Filmmaker Showcase Grand Prize for Best Narrative, with her films airing on the Showtime cable network; the Outfest Audience Award for Outstanding Short Narrative; and recognition from SHOOT Magazine as a “Director to Watch," with her work showcased at the Directors Guild of America in New York.
An advocate for storytelling where women and people of color are at the center, Tamika co-founded Black Films Travel - a conscious initiative that dispels the myth that Black films don't make money overseas.
Tamika has contributed her expertise as a Juror for the prestigious Clio Awards---an annual award program that recognizes innovation and creative excellence in advertising, design, and communication. And, she proudly served six years on the Board of Directors of OUTFEST, the leading organization showcasing, nurturing, and preserving LGBTQ+ film and media.
