In this workshop, we will cover the fundamental basics of working in the Costume Department, which includes the following topics:

  • How to land your first job as a Costume PA

  • How to organize receipts as a Costume PA

  • How to check in incoming inventory as a Costume PA

  • How to process returns as a Costume PA

  • Commonly used costume supplies

  • Ironing techniques

  • Steaming techniques

  • Basic sewing - a running stitch and a hand dart

  • Proper pinning using a safety pin

  • How to write up a change tag

  • Basic aging techniques

  • Sizing and restock

  • How to set up a fitting rack
