Film Industry Basics covers the entry-level information everyone needs to know to start a career in the industry - the different stages of production, on-set terminology and protocol, and basic crew positions, definitions, and hierarchy. Film Business Basics provides a solid foundational overview of the film and television industry, including commercials, industrials, and music videos, so that we may build upon that knowledge to help you Get Started in the Industry.

Get Started in the Industry helps to bridge the gap by explaining how and where to start your career. It covers entry-level crew positions in all departments, paths to different careers, resources available to filmmakers, and how to transition from another industry into film. Linda discusses how and where to find work, where to network, how to interview, and what you need in your production assistant toolkit to succeed - from soft to hard skills. Getting started in the industry isn't easy, and it's not for everyone, but after this class, you'll know whether this is the right career for you.

Crafting an Industry Standard Crew Resume, whether you have credits or not, can and will improve your hiring chances. This course is filled with tips to give you a leg up on the competition. Linda shows you what a film resume should and shouldn't look like, how to turn your work history into related experience, and what to avoid when creating a resume for the film business. Film industry resumes are really simple, but there are lots of ways to make it difficult for someone to hire you, especially if you aren't using the proper standard format. Don't give them a reason not to hire you. Learn to craft an industry-standard film resume that will help you stand out in a crowd.
