Twelve New Airport Shorts Take Off in 2016

Three years ago we launched the Airport Shorts program in conjunction with the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Art Program. The installation showcases two hours of short films from all over the world on nearly 30 screens throughout the terminal to 14 million travelers annually 365 days per year! Fourteen short films from ten countries offer filmmakers exposure and film-loving travelers all the enrichment and escape the moving images have to offer.

As we say goodbye to 2015, say hello to fourteen local filmmakers whose concepts were chosen from a competitive slate of short film proposals: congratulations to Jen West, Joey Kopanski, Marisa Ginger Tontaveetong, Babacar Ndiaye, Mary Beth Byram, Danielle Deadwyler, Cali Nguyen Berry, Marcus Rosentrater, Nathan HonnoldRaymond Carr, Anna SpenceMicah Stansell, Deon Kay and Whitney Stansell on their officially selected contributions! We are so grateful and proud to present an original collection of locally-made short films at the busiest airport in the world. We hope this program will bring you and yours joy as you traverse from point A to point B, wherever each may be.

Airport Shorts 2016 will debut the same week as the 40th annual Atlanta Film Festival: April 1-10, 2016. It's not too early to become a Member or Patron! With a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign that provides for filmmaker travel (thank you!) and a commanding first six features already announced, the 2016 ATLFF promises to take films from all over the world, well—all over the world. Stay tuned for updates on the next flight of Airport Shorts! We can't wait to share them with you.
